1. Scope and Applicability
This policy applies to all individuals who use, interact with, or configure Trace, including server administrators and end users. By installing, enabling, or otherwise interacting with the Services, you consent to the practices described herein.

Settings you choose in the bot (e.g., server language, tracked channels, quotas).
Translated Content
User messages processed by the bot for translation purposes.
Processing
Any operation performed on Personal Data, such as collection, storage, retrieval, use, or deletion.
3. Data We Collect
3.1 User-Provided Data
Discord Identifiers
User IDs, usernames, discriminator tags, avatar URLs. Collected when users authorize the bot or send messages to be translated.
Message Content
Text of messages, including embedded code snippets, emojis, Markdown, attachments metadata (file names, IDs), channel mentions, thread names.
Configuration Choices
Language preferences (source/target), channel selection, quota limits, message handling preferences.
3.2 Automatic Data Collection
Translation Logs
Records of translation requests, character counts, timestamps, success/failure statuses, processing durations.
Usage Metrics
Number of messages processed per server, per user, per time period; quota usage percentages.
Technical Metadata
Bot's server logging of request origin (Discord guild and channel IDs), API response statuses, latency metrics, error codes.
System Metrics
Uptime logs, crash reports, performance telemetry (memory, CPU usage).
3.3 Third-Party Data
AI Providers
We send only the text to be translated and minimal context metadata to our proprietary translation models ("trace-01-mini" for standard users, "trace-01-pro" for premium users). No other personal data or credentials are shared.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Translation Content
Purged within 30 days of processing, unless retained longer for error recovery (maximum 90 days).
Configuration Data
Retained until server uninstalls the bot or resets configurations.
Usage Metrics & Logs
Aggregated metrics retained indefinitely; raw logs purged every 180 days.
Backup and Archive
Periodic encrypted backups may store minimal metadata (server ID, timestamp) for up to one year solely for disaster recovery.
To request deletion of your data, contact privacy@tracebot.com with your Discord ID and server ID.

AI Translation Models
Translation requests are processed by our proprietary models, named "trace-01-mini" for free-tier users and "trace-01-pro" for pro-tier users. Only the text and minimal context labels are sent; no additional personal data is transmitted.
Hosting & Database
Secure cloud providers (e.g., Vercel, Supabase) process configuration and usage data.
Analytics Tools
Aggregated, anonymized data only.
7.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose Personal Data if required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
7.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale, Personal Data may be transferred to the succeeding entity under the same safeguards.
